Cluster (distributed mode)
💰 Feature available with subscription to Yucca Enterprise
Overview
The cluster feature allows you to place cameras on different servers while having a single shared user base. This makes it possible to scale to thousands of cameras and efficiently utilize all of your physical servers and storage systems. All Yucca servers in a cluster are equal members: a user can access the interface of any server and get access to cameras on any server in the cluster, everything works transparently without the need for a special entry point or special configuration. That said, working with a load balancer is not excluded and is even recommended, as it helps route traffic reliably to a server that is currently available and in a working state.
The scheme of operation looks roughly like this:
Requirements and limitations
- in cluster mode, only PostgreSQL is supported.
- There is currently no mechanism for migrating from single-server installations to cluster mode. We're working on this tooling and will update the documentation once it becomes available.
