streams

The Yucca Stream team is 3 developers from Yekaterinburg.

Our story started in 2017, working at a local TV station, diving into FFmpeg, and getting interested in video in general.

When we got a task to organize video surveillance, we found there were no convenient and affordable solutions on the market. That's when we realized we needed to build our own service.

We put together an MVP in a month, and then kept coming back to the project for another year. Once we were convinced the idea had momentum and the product would be useful to people, we got to work. We worked on the service on the side, alongside a full-time job. With ups and downs, FFmpeg bugs, goroutine leaks, an architecture rewritten a hundred times over, and lost Sundays — here we are.

The current release is the Free version.

Right now Yucca can:

  • park cameras;
  • show a live stream;
  • record an archive with a configurable depth limit;

Plus there's intuitive navigation through the archive while watching it.

In the next release we'll add the ability to download an arbitrary segment from the archive.
